Really hot. If the housing is too tight, those quartz tubes will crack the moment they heat up quickly. To stop that from happening, we gave our mounts a bit of “float.” It lets the materials breathe and expand without snapping. Now, I’ll be honest—adding modular plugs means you have more connection points. In the wrong hands, that’s a recipe for voltage drops or carbon buildup. But we fixed that by using heavy-duty, heat-rated terminals. They hold steady, even when the heat is cranking. Making it Easy on the Shop Floor You shouldn’t need a master electrician on standby just to swap a tube. We made the modules “keyed,” so they only fit one way. You can’t plug them in backward or seat them wrong. It’s basically idiot-proof. By treating the heating element as a consumable—like a lightbulb—you can stop the cycle of ripping out and replacing entire banks of heaters. You just swap the burnt tube, flip the switch, and get your floor back up to temperature.
